Banbury Cake
- 3/4 cup light cream (half&half)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package yeast, active dry
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 18 teaspoon mace
- 4 cups flour, all-purpose
- 13 cup currants
- Combine ingredients together.
- First dry ingredients, then wet ingredients.
- Once a batter is made, pour into cake pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Invert, and cool.
