WWII Ration White Cake

• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
• 1/3 cup salad oil
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 cup water

1. Grease an 8 inch square pan.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
4. Mix with remaining ingredients.
5. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes until done.
