Seasoned Toast

  1. Make the toasts: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Using a 2 1/2-inch cutter or a serrated knife, slice the bread into desired shapes.
  2. Transfer pieces to a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. Combine the butter and remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
  4. Brush the butter mixture on both sides of the bread, return bread to baking sheet, and bake for 4 minutes.
  5. Turn bread over and bake until crisp -- about 3 more minutes.
