Seasoned Toast
- 1 loaf bread (like challah or pullman)
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- Make the toasts: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Using a 2 1/2-inch cutter or a serrated knife, slice the bread into desired shapes.
- Transfer pieces to a baking sheet and set aside.
- Combine the butter and remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
- Brush the butter mixture on both sides of the bread, return bread to baking sheet, and bake for 4 minutes.
- Turn bread over and bake until crisp -- about 3 more minutes.
