Weeknight Barbecue Beans

  1. In 2-quart saucepan, cook bacon pieces over medium heat about 6 minutes or until bacon is browned.
  2. With slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels to drain.
  3. Discard all but 1 tablespoon bacon fat from pan.
  4. Add onion and cook 6 to 8 minutes or until tender and golden, stirring occasionally.
  5. Return bacon to saucepan.
  6. Stir in beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, and 1/4 cup water; heat to boiling over medium-high heat.
  7. Reduce heat to medium; cover and cook 5 minutes longer to blend flavors, stirring often.
