Berry Chocolate Panini Sandwich with Wine Reduction Sauce
- 2 cups Gallo Family Vineyards Cafe Zinfandel
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cups Mixed Berries (sliced Strawberries, Raspberries And Blueberries)
- 2 slices Artisan French Bread
- 1 ounce, weight Dark Chocolate, Shaved
- 1/2 ounces, weight Brie Cheese, Sliced Thin
- In a small saucepan add the wine, sugar and vanilla extract and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and reduce mixture until about half of it remains.
- This should take about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- To make the sandwich: In a bowl add berries and slightly smash them with a fork.
- Add the berry mixture onto one slice of bread and drizzle with about 2 tablespoons of wine reduction.
- Top with chocolate, then add the brie cheese.
- Top with the other slice of bread.
- Place onto a panini maker and cook according to manufacturers instructions until cheese and chocolate is melted.
- Note: You will have wine reduction sauce left.
- Save it to add on top of more sandwiches, yogurt, ice cream or even a salad.
