Ginger Margarita
- 1 lemon wedge
- Kosher salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger Syrup (page 244)
- 1 tablespoon orange liqueur, preferably Cointreau
- 3 tablespoons golden tequila, preferably Sauza Tres Generaciones Anejo
- Run the lemon wedge over the rim of a lowball glass and then dip the rim into salt.
- Reserve the lemon wedge.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add the ginger syrup, orange liqueur, and tequila.
- Cover and shake like crazy for about 10 seconds.
- If you think youve shaken it enough, shake some more.
- Strain into the glass, then add ice.
- Squeeze the reserved lemon wedge over and drop into the glass.
- Serve immediately.
