Layered Strawberry-Cracker Dessert

  1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  2. When completely dissolved, add cold water; chill until slightly thickened.
  3. Meanwhile, slice strawberries, reserving a few whole berries for garnish, if desired.
  4. Sprinkle sliced berries with sugar.
  5. Fold whipped topping into gelatin, blending well; fold in sliced berries.
  6. Place 9 graham cracker squares in bottom of 9-inch square pan.
  7. Spread half of the gelatin mixture over crackers; repeat layers.
  8. Chill until firm, about 3 hours.
  9. Cut into squares.
  10. Garnish with reserved strawberries and additional whipped topping, if desired.
