Onion Soup
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cups water
- 12 ounces lager beer
- salt and pepper
- In pot, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in onions.
- Reduce heat to medium low and cook, stirring, until soft and golden, about 15 minutes.
- Add water, beer and salt and pepper to taste.
- Increase heat to high and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until flavors are blended, about 15 minutes.
