Oatmeal Butterscotch Chews

  1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C).
  2. Grease baking sheet lightly with shortening.
  3. Cream shortening, sugars, syrup, egg and light and creamy.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Gradually add to creamed mixture on low speed, mixing until blended.
  6. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  7. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on greased baking sheet.
  8. Bake at 375F (190C) F for 7 to 8 minutes for chewy cookies.
