Stir Fried Pork and Broccoli
- 1/3 cup Chinese plum sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoons VEGEMITE
- 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 500g pork fillet or leg steak, sliced finely
- 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 teaspoons cornflour
- 1/4 cup water
- Combine plum sauce, tomato sauce, garlic, Vegemite* and fivespice.
- Add pork and marinate 2 - 3 hours.
- Drain meat, reserving marinade.
- Heat a frying pan or wok, add a little oil and cook onion for 5 minutes.
- Add pork in small amounts and stir fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add broccoli and cook a further 5 minutes.
- Combine the cornflour, water and reserved marinade, add to the frying pan or wok stirring continuously until sauce thickens.
- Serve immediately.
