Bean Ham Pot Pie Recipe
- 1 "baked" butt portion of ham
- Ham broth from boiled ham & trimmings
- 4 c. flour
- 4 tbsp. shortening, level
- 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt (if ham broth isn't salty)
- Approx. 1 1/2 c. water (cool)
- 1 can great northern beans
- Cut off good slices of baked ham and lay aside.
- Add in water to bone and any desirable pcs for broth.
- Mix next 5 ingredients together as you would pie dough, adding water all at once.
- Let dough rest for 10 or possibly more min.
- Roll out, a little at a time (divide into 4 parts).
- Cut into squares and drop into boiling broth.
- Stir and simmer 20 to 30 min.
- Add in beans last 15 min with some ham pcs.
