Basle Flour Soup Recipe

  1. Heat the butter (moderate heat) and, stirring constantly, cook the flour to a chestnut brown.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat, add in the warmed stock, mix well and simmer without a lid on a low heat for 45 min.
  3. Season with grnd nutmeg and pepper.
  4. Serve with grated cheeese.
  5. NOTE: Till quite recently it was said which a young woman could not get married till she could prepare a perfect flour soup.
