Cajun-Style Blackened Halibut

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Mix first 7 ingredients in small bowl.
  3. Place fillets on baking sheet.
  4. Brush on both sides with 1 tablespoon oil.
  5. Sprinkle top of each with seasoning.
  6. Heat heavy large skillet (preferably cast-iron) over high heat until very hot.
  7. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil; swirl to coat.
  8. Place fillets, seasoned side down, in skillet.
  9. Cook until very brown on bottom, 1 minute.
  10. Return fillets, browned side up, to baking sheet.
  11. Place in oven; bake until just opaque in center, about 8 minutes.
  12. Top each with 1 teaspoon butter.
