Butter Toffee Bars

  1. Heat oven to 325F.
  2. Combine sugar and butter in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  4. Add egg yolk; continue beating until well mixed.
  5. Add flour; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  6. Press evenly onto bottom of ungreased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
  7. Bake 22- 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. (Bars will be soft.)
  9. Sprinkle immediately with chocolate chips; let stand 3 minutes.
  10. Swirl chips slightly with table knife or back of spoon.
  11. Sprinkle with toffee bits.
  12. Cool 1 hour; cut into bars with sharp knife while slightly warm.
