Best Ever Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 c. shortening (part butter)
- 1/2 c. scalded lowfat milk
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water (110 to 115 degrees)
- 1 egg, room temp.
- 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1.
- Measure sugar, salt and shortening into large bowl; add in scalded lowfat milk and blend.
- 2.
- Add in yeast to hot water in small bowl and let stand 3 to 5 min.
- Stir to dissolve.

- When lowfat milk has cooled to lukewarm, add in egg, half the flour and the softened yeast.
- Blend till smooth.
- Fold in more flour till sides of bowl are cleaned, dough should be soft.

- Turn dough onto lightly floured board.
- Knead about 75 strokes.
- Dough will become smooth with little bubbles beneath the surface.

- Place in greased bowl, turn to grease all sides.
- Cover and let rise in hot place, about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs or possibly when dent remains when finger is pressed deep into dough.

- Punch down dough, let rise 15 min more.
- 7.
- Turn out onto floured board, roll out to rectangle, 12"x15".
- Spread with 2 Tbsp.
- butter; sprinkle with 1/2 c. brown sugar and 2 tsp.
- cinnamon.
- Roll up tight beginning at wide side.
- Seal and cut into 12 even slices.
- Place a little apart in 9"x13"x2" greased pan.
- Cover and let rise approximately 35 to 40 min.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake approximately 25 min.
- Frost if you like.
