Cafe Creme Brulee Recipe

  1. Combine milks, coffee, kahlua and cornstarch in a saucepan and heat, stirring till the coffee granules dissolve.
  2. Combine with remaining ingredients and puree till smooth in a food processor.
  3. Divide into individual custard c. and cook in a water bath at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs till set.
  4. Chill.
  5. Sprinkle over tops of custards trying to cover completely.
  6. Caramelize quickly with propane torch.
  7. Yield 12 servings
  8. NOTES : On the TV show, Terry Conlan suggested using meringue instead of whipped cream as a garnish for a creme brulee.
