Grilled Avocado and Sauteed Mushroom Swiss Burger
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Seasoned Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 3 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 pound Mushrooms, Washed And Sliced
- 13 cups Red Wine
- 1 Tablespoon Flour
- 1/4 cups Cold Water
- 1 whole Avocado
- 4 whole Hamburger Rolls
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- Combine the beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Form into patties and refrigerate.
- In a saute pan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the mushrooms and saute for about 2-3 minutes, stirring.
- Add the red wine, bring to a slight boil and reduce heat to medium-low.
- Simmer, stirring frequently, about 15-20 minutes.
- Combine the flour and water; add to the mushrooms.
- Stir until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cover.
- Prepare your grill.
- Cut the avocado lengthwise down the middle, peel the halves and remove the pit.
- Once the grill is ready, add the burgers.
- When they have just a couple of minutes left, add the avocado halves cut side down on the grill; they only take about 1 or 2 minutes so watch them carefully.
- Cut them into fairly thin slices.
- To assemble, spoon some of the mushrooms on top of the burger, the Swiss cheese, then avocado.
