Sweet Onion Japone Sauce
- 2 to 3 Sweet onions
- 1 clove and 1 piece each Garlic and ginger
- 1 to 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 50 ml Mirin
- 50 ml Sake
- 50 ml Rice vinegar
- 100 ml Soy sauce
- 50 ml Vegetable oil
- Grate the onions into a bowl.
- You can use a blender or food processor instead.
- Grate the garlic and ginger also.
- Add the ingredients.
- Add the oil, and mix together very well.
- Store in the refrigerator.
- It keeps for 2 weeks to a month.
- You can halve the amounts if you like.
- Use the sauce on raw vegetables and salad.
- Use on hamburger steak.
- (Add to the still hot pan after cooking the hamburgers.)
- Add to sauteed garlic and bean sprouts or pastas.
- Ginger yakiniku: Season the meat with salt and pepper, coat with flour and stir fry.
- Transfer to a serving plate.
- Put some of the japone sauce in the still hot frying pan, stir around and pour over the meat.
