Creamy Spinach and Ham
- 2 slices bread
- 1 handful spinach
- 2 tablespoons soft cheese
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 slice ham
- Brush the sandwich toaster with a little sunflower oil, wiping off the excess with kitchen paper.
- Preheat the sandwich toaster to its highest setting.
- Pick over the spinach leaves removing any tough stalks.
- Wash well in a colander.
- Heat a pan and add the damp spinach, stirring until it just begins to wilt.
- Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Spread the Quark on one side of each slice of bread.
- On one slice, cover the Quark with the wilted spinach.
- Sprinkle with a pinch of nutmeg (if using) and cover with the ham.
- Top the sandwich with the second slice of bread (Quark side down) and place in the toaster.
- Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes until browned.
