Alta's English Toffee Recipe

  1. Cook sugar, water, butter, and vanilla together till it is bubbling and is nearly to hard ball stage.
  2. Pour sugar mix on foil fitted on a a cookie sheet.
  3. Spread 1/2 of the chocolated (grated) over it and 1/2 of the nuts.
  4. Turn foil over quickly onto another foil covered cookie sheet and cover with remaining chocolate and nuts.
  5. Cold, then hit with the handle of a knife to break into pcs.
