Fried Fish in Batter

  1. Cut the fish in serving pieces and lay flat in a dish.
  2. Mix oil, wine, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  3. Pour over the fish.
  4. Lay slices of onion on top of fish.
  5. Let soak for 1 hour.
  6. Remove fish and drain on paper towels.
  7. Make a batter of flour, milk, egg, salt and pepper.
  8. Dip fish into batter, covering all sides.
  9. Fry in hot fat and drain on paper before serving.
  10. Serve with tartar sauce.
