Smoky Maple Baked Beans
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 34 lb bulk pork sausage (Jimmy Dean)
- 1 large sweet onion, chopped
- 1 12 cups ketchup
- 12 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 14 cup light molasses
- 14 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 12 teaspoon dried chipotle powder (to taste)
- 5 (16 ounce) cansplain baked beans
- In a large pot, fry the bacon until it is almost crisp; remove from the pot and set aside.
- Add in the sausage and onion; saute, breaking up the sausage into small pieces until it is no longer pink and the onion is translucent; remove all of the fat from the pot.
- Add the reserved bacon, the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, and chile powder to the pot; bring to a boil, stirring until the mixture is incorporated.
- Add in the beans, stirring to combine and simmer 1 hour; serve hot.
