Magnificent Meatloaf
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 lb ground lean pork or 1 lb sausage
- 1 lb lean ground veal or 1 lb turkey or 1 lb chicken
- 1 large onion, finely minced
- 6 garlic cloves, .finely minced
- 34 cup oatmeal or 34 cup Italian style breadcrumbs
- 3 eggs
- 14 cup soup, base (you can substitute Onion soup mix)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ketchup
- Place meat into the mixing bowl of your mixer, Add everything except the ketchup.
- Mix well on low speed until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Form a tight ball and place meat into a large loaf pan, or 2 quart baking dish, pressing meat into pan very firmly.
- Coat the top of the meat with ketchup.
- Chill at least one hour before baking.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minute or til thermometer reads well done.
- Remove from oven and from the pan.
- Place loaf on a cutting board, lightly cover with foil and let stand 15 minute.
- Cut into slices and serve.
