Pillsbury Italian Meatball Subs

  1. Bake bread as directed on package.
  2. In medium bowl, combine ground beef, sausage, bread crumbs, onion and egg; mix well.
  3. Shape into 16 (1 1/2-inch) balls.
  4. In medium skillet, cook meatballs over medium heat for 5 minutes or until browned, turning frequently.
  5. Drain.
  6. Add pizza sauce.
  7. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until meatballs are thoroughly cooked.
  8. Slice each loaf open, sandwich-style.
  9. Place 8 meatballs in each loaf.
  10. Spoon sauce over meatballs.
  11. Cut loaves in half to make four sandwiches.
  12. Sprinkle with cheese.
