Grandma Helen's Cinnamon Apples
- 2 cups water
- 34 cup little red-hot candies
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 lbs granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
- Mix water and sugar in a 5 quart Dutch Oven and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
- Add the candies and stir until dissolved.
- When dissolved, reduce the heat and add the apples in a single layer, turning them often and gently.
- Cook for about 15 minutes or until tender.
- Serve warm or cold but enjoy them!
