Browned Pork Chops With Gravy Recipe
- 4 x boneless pork loin chops - (12 ounce)
- 1/2 tsp dry sage leaves
- 1/2 tsp dry marjoram leaves
- 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1/8 tsp salt Nonstick extra virgin olive oil cooking spray as needed
- 1/4 c. coarsely-minced onion
- 1 x garlic clove chopped
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 3/4 c. beef broth
- 1/3 c. nonfat lowfat sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 c. warm cooked noodles Snipped parsley (optional)
- Trim fat from chops.
- Stir together sage, marjoram, pepper and salt.
- Rub on both sides of chops.
- Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat.
- Place chops in skillet.
- Cook 5 min, turning once, or possibly till chops are just barely pink.
- Remove chops from skillet; keep hot.
- Add in onion and garlic to skillet; cook and stir 2 min.
- Add in mushrooms and broth.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 3 to 4 min or possibly till mushrooms are tender.
- Whisk together lowfat sour cream, flour and mustard in medium bowl.
- Whisk in about 3 Tbsp.
- broth from skillet.
- Stir lowfat sour cream mix into skillet.
- Cook, stirring constantly, till mix comes to a boil.
- Serve over pork chops and noodles.
- Sprinkle with parsley, if you like.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
