Easy meringues

  1. Pre heat oven to 140 and line big baking tray with greaseproof paper
  2. Weigh out caster sugar and put near where your going to whisk egg whites with a table spoon
  3. Put egg whites & salt in a mixing bowl and whisk on low for 1 minute then increase the speed to medium for 2-3 minutes until you get stating peaks and you can turn it upside down without it moving.
  4. Sorry about the pic it wasn't easy lol
  5. Continue to whisk & add the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture becomes stiff and glossy.
  6. This will take between 5-10 minutes.
  7. Mine took 8
  8. Using a table spoon place shapes on tray I got 12.
  9. Put in oven for 30-40 minutes until pale & dry.
  10. Mine took 35.
  11. Turn the oven off and leave inside with the door slightly open.
  12. Use with cream etc or in other recipes.
  13. I used mine for my strawberry pavlova ice cream.
  14. freeze it in polythene or a container with a tight-fitting lid.
  15. Defrost at room temperature before serving with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
