Tomatoes a La Bengal

  1. Preheat oven 325F Cut crusts off bread, round the corners.
  2. Fry in hot vegetable oil until crisp.
  3. Drain on paper towels but keep hot.
  4. Scald tomatoes and peel.
  5. Cut 4 thick slices.
  6. Dip bread rounds in melted butter.
  7. Spread with chutney.
  8. Top with tomato slice.
  9. Season with salt, pepper and curry to taste.
  10. Cook in oven for 10 minutes.
