Old Time New England Fish Chowder

  1. Cook onions, celery, carrots and green pepper in bacon until soft.
  2. Add water, fish, potatoes, milk, butter, salt, pepper, parsley, oatmeal and saltines.
  3. Cook very slowly for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Serve with salad and bread.
