Tub Type Margarine
- 1 lb margarine
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- Unwrap the cubes of margarine while cold: place in a large bowl and let it stand until extremely soft, but not melted.
- Measure buttermilk into a 2-cup measuring cup and stir in the oil.
- With an electric mixers, beat in the margarine until the cubes are blended.
- Add the buttermilk and oil mixture, about 1/4 cup at a time, beating till all is liquid absorbed.
- This will just about fill a two pound plastic bowl.
- NOTE: This mixture freezes well so you can stock up if you like.
- If you buy a qt.
- of buttermilk, you can make up 4 batches up.
