Tub Type Margarine

  1. Unwrap the cubes of margarine while cold: place in a large bowl and let it stand until extremely soft, but not melted.
  2. Measure buttermilk into a 2-cup measuring cup and stir in the oil.
  3. With an electric mixers, beat in the margarine until the cubes are blended.
  4. Add the buttermilk and oil mixture, about 1/4 cup at a time, beating till all is liquid absorbed.
  5. This will just about fill a two pound plastic bowl.
  6. NOTE: This mixture freezes well so you can stock up if you like.
  7. If you buy a qt.
  8. of buttermilk, you can make up 4 batches up.
  9. Go ahead get your Margarine.
