Whole Wheat Applesauce Bread Recipe
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. minced peanuts
- 1 1/4 c. applesauce
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add in Large eggs; mix well.
- Combine flour, baking pwdr, salt, soda, spices, raisins and nuts.
- Add in to creamed mix alternately with applesauce; mix well after each addition.
- Spoon batter into well buttered 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake 60 to 70 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cold 10 min; remove from pan and cold completely on wire rack.
- Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store 12 to 24 hrs.
