Buttery Orange Pound Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar with mixer, add eggs and continue mixing.
  2. Mix in the milk.
  3. Turn mixer to low before adding flour mixture.
  4. Whisk together flour, salt and baking powder and add to liquids.
  5. Add the orange zest and orange juice.
  6. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan generously.
  7. Pour in batter.
  8. Tap pan on counter top to release any air bubbles.
  9. Bake in preheated 325 oven for 1 hour and about 20 minutes testing for doneness.
  10. Let cool and remove from pan.
  11. Add orange glaze
  12. ORANGE GLAZE
  13. 1/4 to 1/2 cup orange juice
  14. 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  15. Whisk together until consistency you want to pour over cake.
  16. You can poke holes in cake and let glaze seep into the cake.
