Savoury Garlic Mac and Cheese
- 4 cups scoobi doo pasta, uncooked
- 4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 small onion, chopped King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup Philadelphia Cream Cheese Product
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups Cracker Barrel Shredded Double Cheddar Cheese, divided
- Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Meanwhile, cook and stir bacon in large deep nonstick skillet on medium heat until crisp.
- Use slotted spoon to remove bacon from skillet; drain on paper towels.
- Discard drippings from skillet.
- Add onions to skillet; cook 5 min.
- or until softened, stirring frequently and adding garlic for the last minute.
- Drain pasta, reserving 1/3 cup cooking water.
- Add cream cheese product, milk and 1-1/2 cups shredded cheese to onions in skillet; cook and stir on medium-low heat 2 min.
- or until cream cheese is completely melted and sauce is heated through.
- Gradually stir in enough of the reserved cooking water until sauce is of desired consistency.
- Add pasta and bacon; mix lightly.
- Heat broiler.
- Spoon pasta mixture into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with remaining shredded cheese.
- Broil, 6 inches from heat, 2 min.
- or until golden brown.
