Turkey Steaks Shanghai Recipe
- 4-8 turkey breast steaks, cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 tbsp. peanut oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoon chicken seasoned stock base
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. sherry
- 1 tbsp. wine vinegar
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 1 1/2 c. water
- Warm cooked rice
- 1/4 c. sliced green onions
- Season turkey with salt and pepper.
- Saute/fry in heated oil unitl golden, turning once.
- Remove steaks from pan.
- Combine all other ingredients, except rice and green onions, in pan.
- Cook and stir till sauce clears and thickens.
- Return turkey steaks to sauce and reheat a few min.
- Serve with rice; sprinkle with green onion.
- Makes 4 servings.
