Oatmeal Cocoa Chippers
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. chocolate bits
- 2 c. oats, uncooked
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven
- to 350u0b0.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking
- soda
- and
- salt;
- set
- aside.
- In a large mixer bowl, combine
- margarine,
- brown
- sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla extract;
- beat until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well
- after
- each
- addition.
- Gradually
- beat in flour mixture. Stir
- in
- chocolate bits, oats and walnuts.
- Drop by slightly rounded
- tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to
- 11 minutes
- for chewy cookies and 12 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.
- Let stand 2 minutes before removing from a cookie sheet; cool completely.
- Makes 4 dozen cookies.
