Pastry Baked Brie
- 1 (8 1/2 ounce) package pie crust mix
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces brie cheese, round
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon water
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix pie crust mix with cream cheese until well blended, making a soft dough.
- Wrap dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Remove from refrigerator and divide in half.
- On floured surface, roll out each halt to 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut a 7 inch pastry circle from each half.
- Place one pastry circle on ungreased baking sheet.
- Place Brie in center of pastry.
- Lightly wet edges of dough and place the other 7 inch circle on top.
- Pinch edges together lightly to seal.
- In speeratore bowl, beat egg and water together.
- Brush mixture over top and sides of pastry.
- Bake 15 minutes or until brown.
- Remove from baking sheet immediately.
- Let rest 15 minutes to allow cheese to set.
- Serve warm with apples or crackers.
