Homemade Gingerbread Cake
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Stick Butter (softened)
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Molasses
- 2 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Ground Cloves
- 3/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 cup Hot Boiling Water
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cream together sugar & butter.
- Beat in egg.
- Mix in Molasses.
- In a medium bowl sift together the flour, spices, salt, and baking soda.
- Twice.
- Blend the Flour mix into the Molasses mix, alternating hot water and flour mix till everything comes together.
- Mix together thoroughly for 3 minutes.
- Pour into 9 inch greased pan.
- Bake for 1hour.
- Cool.
- Cut.
- & Serve with sifted powdered sugar.
- Add whipped cream.
- Eat.
- Enjoy.
