Spiced Cranberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 34 cup water
- 4 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon crushed cardamom pod
- 12 teaspoon ground allspice
- Cook sugar and water in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Increase heat to medium-high and bring to boil.
- Add cranberries, nutmeg, cardamom and allspice.
- Cook until cranberries pop, about 10 minutes.
- (Can be prepared 2 days ahead.
- Cover and refrigerate.
