Beef Stew: Eisenhower's Recipe

  1. Stew meat till tender, add in vegetables and spices.
  2. Cook till vegetables are done, strain off one c. of stock from stew, thicken slightly with beef roux mix.
  3. Pour back into stew and let simmer till ready to serve
  4. (about 1/2 hour.)
  5. Remove cloth bag of spices.
  6. Makes 6 servings.
