Chana Masala
- 1 can (19 fl oz/540 mL) no-salt-added chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed
- 1-1/2 cups 25%-less-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tsp. dried fenugreek leaves
- 3/4 tsp. garam masala
- 3/4 tsp. ground coriander
- 3/4 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. red chili powder or cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red onions
- 1/4 cup Kraft Sun-Dried Tomato & Oregano Dressing
- 2 plum tomatoes, chopped Safeway 1 lb For $1.29 thru 02/09
- 2 fresh green chilies, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice Safeway 4 ct For $5.00 thru 02/09
- Bring first 7 ingredients to boil in medium saucepan on high heat; cover.
- Simmer on low heat 30 min.
- or until chickpeas are tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
