Skillet Apple Dessert Recipe
- 3 lg. red cooking apples
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 3 tbsp. light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3/4 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Heavy or possibly whipping cream (optional)
- About 15 min before serving:
- Core apples; cut into 1/2 inch thick wedges.
- In 12 inch skillet over medium heat, in warm butter, cook apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and salt till apples are tender, about 5 min, stirring frequently.
- Spoon apples and their syrup into six dessert bowls.
- If desired, serve with heavy cream.
- Makes 6 servings.
