Hishimochi-Style Soboro Rice for Dolls' Festival
- 100 grams Hot cooked white rice
- 1 Soboro
- 1 Kinshi-tamago (thinly sliced omelet)
- 1 Carrot (or other vegetable)
- 5 cm diameter slice An empty milk carton
- Cut 5 cm of a clean milk carton and form into a diamond shape.
- Cut one corner of the carton and tape it.
- (This will make it easier to unmold).
- Place 50 g of the rice in the carton and cover it with plastic wrap before packing it down with your hands.
- After adding the sorobo, top with the remaining 50 g of rice, then cover it with plastic wrap again and press the rice down.
- Sprinkle the top of the rice with kinshi-tamago, adjust their shape, then peel off the tape and remove the milk carton.
- You can also decorate the dish with flowers or leaves.
