Hishimochi-Style Soboro Rice for Dolls' Festival

  1. Cut 5 cm of a clean milk carton and form into a diamond shape.
  2. Cut one corner of the carton and tape it.
  3. (This will make it easier to unmold).
  4. Place 50 g of the rice in the carton and cover it with plastic wrap before packing it down with your hands.
  5. After adding the sorobo, top with the remaining 50 g of rice, then cover it with plastic wrap again and press the rice down.
  6. Sprinkle the top of the rice with kinshi-tamago, adjust their shape, then peel off the tape and remove the milk carton.
  7. You can also decorate the dish with flowers or leaves.
