A Hint of Chinese Five Spiced Chicken Ham with Soy Sauce Malt
- 500 grams Chicken breast meat
- 2 tbsp or more Soy sauce koji
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt (optional)
- Put the chicken breasts into a resealable bag.
- Add soy sauce koji, honey, Chinese five spice powder and mix well.
- Remove the excess air from the bag and chill in the fridge overnight.
- Place the chicken breasts in boiling water.
- Cook over a low heat for 5 to 8 minutes.
- When the chicken has boiled, check the seasoning.
- If necessary, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Cover with a lid and let sit until cooled.
- Once cooled, chill in the fridge overnight.
- Done Slice thinly and serve as they are.
- Use in salads or as a sandwich filling.
- This is a salad using this chicken ham, wakame seaweed and new season onion.
- Grain mustard is great for this salad and you can eat plenty of wakame seaweed.
