Deli Stromboli Recipe

  2. In bowl, combine 2 c. flour, the yeast and salt.
  3. Combine water, oil and honey; stir into flour mix till soft dough forms.

  5. Turn dough onto floured surface.
  6. Knead dough, add in remaining flour till dough is very elastic, 10 to 15 min.

  8. Place dough in an oiled mixing bowl.
  9. Turn to bring oiled side up.
  10. Cover and let rise in a hot place till double in size, approximately 30 to 45 min.

  12. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  13. Dust cookie sheet or possibly jelly roll pan with cornmeal.
  14. Roll out dough to 18 x 12 inch rectangle.
  15. Spread ingredients over dough, leaving 1/2 inch border on each side.
  16. Starting at one short edge, roll up dough.
  17. Secure ends.
  18. Place roll, seam side down on pan.

  20. Bake 18 to 20 min or possibly till golden.
  21. Cold 5 min.
  22. Serve immediately.
