Holiday Thumbprint Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Separate eggs; place egg whites into bowl and egg yolks into bowl.
  3. Beat egg whites with fork until foamy; set aside.
  4. Place all remaining cookie ingredients in bowl with egg yolks.
  5. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture forms a dough.
  6. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Dip each into egg white; roll in nuts.
  8. Place 1 inch apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
  9. Make indentation in center of each cookie with thumb or back of teaspoon.
  10. Bake 8 minutes.
  11. Remove cookies from oven; fill centers with choice of filling.
  12. Continue baking 6-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  13. Remove to cooling racks.
  14. Cool completely.
