Non-Fried Sweet and Sour Pork with Cubed Meat

  1. Pierce the meat cubes with a fork.
  2. Cut into bite size pieces and marinate in the ingredients.
  3. If you are using tonkatsu meat, cut into bite sizes and pierce with a fork.
  4. Marinate in the ingredients.
  5. Cut off the fat in Step 2 if you want to make an even healthier version of the dish.
  6. Combine the ingredients.
  7. Roughly cut carrots into rolling slices.
  8. Put in a microwave-safe container and cover with water (not listed).
  9. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave for about 5 minutes (adjust the time according to your desired doneness).
  10. Cut the onion in half crosswise.
  11. Then cut lengthwise into bite-sized pieces.
  12. Clean the peppers and cut in half vertically.
  13. Slice diagonally into bite-sized pieces.
  14. Take the meat out of the marinade from Step 1 and coat with cake flour.
  15. Shake off the excess flour and place on parchment paper.
  16. Put on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 230C (450F).
  17. Heat oil in a pan.
  18. Saute the ingredients from Steps 5, 6, and 7, and season with salt and pepper (not listed).
  19. Once cooked, take them out of the pan.
  20. Clean the pan and add the sauce that you set aside in Step 4.
  21. Stir constantly and cook over low heat to thicken.
  22. Add the ingredients from Steps 8 and 9 and coat the sauce.
  23. Serve!
