Easy Amazingly Delicious Rich Brownies
- 175 grams Plain (black) chocolate
- 100 grams Butter (unsalted if you have it)
- 1 tsp Instant coffee granules
- 1 tbsp Boiling water
- 1 large Egg
- 110 grams Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 35 grams Flour (self-raising flour if you have it)
- 100 grams or so Nuts, chocolate chips, etc., optional
- Put the chocolate and butter in a pan, and melt over low heat.
- When it's all melted, take it off the heat and leave to cool.
- Preheat the oven to 190 C.
- Dissolve the instant coffee in hot water, and put a bowl with the egg, sugar, and vanilla essence.
- Mix with a whisk.
- Add the chocolate-butter mixture from Step 1, and mix in well.
- Add the flour, and fold it in using a spoon or spatula.
- Pour the batter into a parchment paper lined pan.
- You can mix chocolate chips or nuts etc.
- into the batter, or sprinkle them on top.
- I like to mix in half and sprinkle on the other half.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 190 C!
- Leave to cool in the pan, cut into squares, and these rich brownies are done.
- Try this as a party cake.
- These are great as gifts too.
