Chicken biryani
- 1/2 kg basmati rice(soaked for 15 min in water)
- 500 grams chicken
- 3 medium sliced onions
- 3 clove garlic
- 3 medium tomatoes
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1 large green chilli
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp biryani spice
- 1 vegetable oil
- 1 salt
- 1 whole garam masala
- 1 rose water or saffron
- 1 tsp vinegar
- Boil water in a pot,add salt, whole garam masala,1 tablespoons oil or butter,and soaked rice.
- Cook for 7-8 minutes, remove when the rice is 70% cooked,strain,and set aside to cool.
- In another pan fry onion until golden brown, add yogurt,green chilli, fry,add tomatoes, cook for 5 min,then add ginger and garlic paste, spices, chicken, cook for few minutes then add 1.5 cups of water.
- Cook until chicken is done and oil appears on surface.
- Now layer the rice and the gravy,as rice then gravy and rice again on top,add few drops of rose water or saffron cover with lid.put the pan on a skillet and over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and boiled eggs.enjoy!
