Our Family's Delicious Gyodon Beef Rice Bowl

  1. Slice the onion thinly, and cut the meat into 4 cm wide pieces.
  2. Combine the dashi stock granules and all the flavoring ingredients in a frying pan and bring to a boil.
  3. When it comes to a boil, add the meat and onion and put on a drop lid (a small lid that fits on top of the pan contents) and simmer over medium heat...and it's done.
  4. Add some shirataki to taste.
  5. The simmering time is around 20-30 minutes, or until the sauce is almost gone.
  6. Put plenty of this on top of piping hot rice.
  7. Top with some beni-shouga red pickled ginger.
  8. How about inarizushi skins with the same flavoring ingredients?
  9. Use the same ingredients to simmer fish!
  10. It's sooo good!
  11. Simmered clams are terrific too.
