- 1 tbsp Matcha
- 200 grams Pancake mix
- 1 Egg
- 1 Soft brown sugar
- 150 ml Milk
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil (optional)
- Heat the steamer.
- Sift the matcha once.
- Line the cupcake moulds with aluminium (or paper) cupcake liners.
- Whisk the egg and sugar in a bowl with a whisk.
- Add the milk (and vegetable oil) and mix some more.
- Add the pancake mix and fold it in with a rubber spatula.
- Finally, mix in the matcha.
- If you mix the matcha in gently so that it is not fully integrated, you'll have a nice marbled pattern!
- Pour the mixture into the cupcake molds to about 70% full.
- Make sure the water in the steamer is boiling, and place the cupcake molds in the steamer.
- Steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Poke a skewer into the buns, and if it comes out clean, they are done.
- Add vegetable oil to the batter if you like.
- It'll makes the buns more moist.
